EAL: a website the marketing team can run without a developer

EAL’s old site was hard to update and no longer matched its brand. We redesigned it on a CMS the team could use themselves, and trained them to do it.

The situation

EAL’s marketing site sat on an ageing platform. Content updates were cumbersome, the design was out of date, and every change pulled in technical help. The team needed a site that showed off EAL’s work and that they could keep up to date themselves.

What we questioned first

  • Who updates it after launch?EAL’s own marketing team, so we chose a CMS that gives them full control without technical complexity, and ran training sessions so they were confident using it.
  • How do visitors find what they need?A discovery phase mapped the user journey, and the structure puts qualifications, case studies and resources first.
  • What happens as EAL grows?A modular build, so new sections and features can be added without a redesign.

What we built

A modern, fully responsive marketing website aligned with EAL’s refreshed brand, on a CMS the team manages independently.

What changed

EAL’s team adds qualifications, news and content without waiting for a developer. See it at eal.org.uk.

Partnering with Fluff for the EAL website project was an outstanding experience. Their professionalism, technical expertise, and creative approach resulted in a website that perfectly aligns with our goals.

How we’d work on this today. Letting a team handle everyday changes themselves frees developers for the work only they can do, and the fractional team looks for changes like that in every queue. For education and skills
