Prototype Rescue.

Turn an AI-built prototype into software that survives real users, real data and a security review.

Code on a laptop screen

It worked in the demo. Production is a different job.

AI app builders are brilliant for getting an idea in front of people. They’re less good at the parts nobody sees until something goes wrong: who can read which data, where the secrets live, what happens when a payment fails at 2am.

Paying customers on it already? See how the fractional team helps founders with AI-built products.

2026 has been full of examples. Researchers at RedAccess found around 5,000 apps built on Lovable, Base44, Replit and Netlify that were exposing sensitive corporate or personal data with little or no authentication, as Axios reported in May. An earlier scan by Escape of 5,600 publicly deployed vibe-coded apps found more than 2,000 high-impact vulnerabilities and over 400 exposed secrets (VentureBeat).

What we look at.

A senior review of the whole app, then a clear, prioritised list of what to fix and in what order.

  • Access and dataAuthentication, roles and database rules such as Supabase row-level security, so users only see what they should.
  • Secrets and keysAPI keys and credentials out of the front end and out of the repository, rotated where they’ve leaked.
  • Payments and the edge casesFailed webhooks, retries, refunds and the flows a demo never tests.
  • Hosting, monitoring and backupsSo you find out about problems before your users do, and can recover when something breaks.
  • Code you can keep building onStructure, tests and documentation, so the next feature doesn’t break the last one.

How it works.

We start with a review and a fixed quote for the work that matters. From there you can have us fix it as a one-off, or keep the app moving on the subscription.

Rescue questions.

Do you have to rebuild it?

Usually not. Most prototypes have a good idea and a decent shape underneath. We keep what works, fix what’s dangerous and rebuild only the parts that won’t survive real users.

Which tools do you work with?

Apps built with Lovable, Bolt, Replit, v0, Cursor, Claude Code and similar tools, plus hand-built prototypes. Most use a common stack such as React with Supabase or Firebase, which we work in every day.

What happens after the rescue?

Some teams take the fixed app and run it themselves. Most have a list of features waiting, so they move onto the subscription and keep shipping.
