Introduction
Fairwood Lakes Holiday Park offers luxury lodges, family camping areas, and fishing breaks in the heart of Wiltshire. With easy access to some of the most popular places and attractions in the area including Longleat, Stonehenge, Lacock, Avebury and the beautiful cities of Bath and Salisbury.
Fairwood Lakes has 6 acres of lakes, plenty of activities for children and lots of greenspace. It’s the ideal spot to relax and spend quality time together, creating those moments that really matter.
During a family camping trip to Fairwood Lakes, Fluff CEO Scott Gulliver asked to leave some Huntly (Fluff’s app for outdoor exploration) leaflets for the visitors of Fairwood Lakes – and the conversation grew from there.
The Challenge
Impressed with Huntly and its potential for using tech to engage children in outdoor fun, exploration and play, Fairwood Lakes asked if there was a way they could create a quest specifically for their park.
Fairwood Lakes are always looking to add extra activities for children to do whilst visiting their site. Huntly was the perfect blend of technology and exploration that meant they could enjoy all the green space they have to offer whilst making it fun and interactive, and getting little ones excited about exploring and exercising along the way.
The Solution
Working closely with Becca Groves, the Assistant Manager at Fairwood Lakes, the team at Fluff were able to develop a quest specifically for the holiday park, featuring all the hidden beauty spots and little treasures for visitors to the park to enjoy.
Families can unlock the quest with a unique code, and then enjoy exploring the beautiful surroundings at Fairwood. Visitors can also play on the mini golf course, run through the splash tunnel, relax in a hammock hidden within the outdoor playpark, and much more!
Once they’ve explored and captured all of the quest items, they achieve a unique Fairwood Lakes badge within the app.
The Outcome
This quest launched in early September and is already proving hugely popular. The result of this, proves the value behind tech and tourism working in sync.
The managers of Fairwood Lakes had the foresight to see how technology can help children and families get the most from their visit, and learn about their surroundings in a fun, interactive and wholesome way, together.
Fairwood Lakes are now able to offer this free on-site activity to keep little ones exploring and having fun, whilst encouraging family bonding and exercise.
These types of value-added services keep customers coming back to the site over and over, as well as creating a talking point for future recommendations.

Huntly is a scavenger hunt app created for children, to encourage them to get outdoors, explore, exercise, learn about nature and notice the little things around them, whilst having fun as a family.
This scavenger hunt app is a family-led activity, as has been made to cater for children, therefore it’s completely free with non-app purchases, no ads, and no hidden nasties.
There are currently 16 quests available to complete, including Beach Exploration, Tall Timbers, Wildlife Watch, and as per parents request - Super Shopper! There are so many free quests to complete to get your little explorer out and about.
