Fluff Software celebrates a successful night at the Swindon & Wiltshire Techies Awards

Wonderful recognition for our community efforts.

We’re still on a high following the Swindon & Wiltshire Techies Awards which celebrates the very best accomplishments in the world of tech over the past 12 months.

It was a fantastic night for Fluff Software and in particular for our Founder and Director Scott Gulliver.

Scott came back to Fluff HQ with the Outstanding Contribution to Swindon &Wiltshire Tech award firmly in his grasp!

The award came as recognition for his work in establishing the Swindon Software Group - a community of like-minded software developers keen to impart knowledge, discuss sector developments and provide a supportive network to one another.

Scott created the group in early 2022 to build this community within the context of Swindon’s thriving tech scene. It was created for anyone based in the Swindon or Wiltshire area with an interest in software development, from those who work professionally as software developers to hobby coders, as well as those with an interest but little experience.

Scott said, “I was totally surprised by the award and very humbled to receive it. It’s an incredible award and it really means a lot.

“Needless to say, any of what we do wouldn't be at all possible without the amazing team at Fluff Software. I'm very proud to be surrounded by an team of amazing people who have boundless enthusiasm and talent.

“Being a part of our tech community, and helping to build it, is a real privilege, and what gets me out of bed each day with enthusiasm.

“There is such a depth of software and technical talent in Swindon and Wiltshire. From those who live in the town, and commute to other areas, to those who are working for the large variety of companies based here, we've got a strong pool of people. I wanted to bring these people (including myself!) together and forma new community around what we're doing. A place to share ideas, learn from each other, and be a leading group in the field of software development.

“We have been overwhelmed with the response to Swindon Software. It has proved to be an important network for our tech community, bridging the gap between tech and networking. There are very few dedicated opportunities for people in our industry to connect face-to-face, and post-pandemic we wanted to ensure we could provide this.”

The group has been a resounding success, now boasting 300 members from across the region. You can find out more and sign up here.
